I'm putting in coax cables to redistribute the TV signal around the house and needed to put an extra socket in my room. Unfortunately there's a piece of wood right behind where I cut the hole...

The trick is to use an ancient technique, very similar to how Native American trackers could detect horses by putting their head on the ground.

The other option is to invest in a stud finder.

I was told to cut it there :P

That bit of wood's been removed now anyway.
